Is it now OK to say see you next Tuesday?
Many people were shocked by Jane Fonda's use of the c-word on The Today Show (video).
Not me.
I'm all for making 'see you next Tuesday' a socially acceptable slang word.
After all, saying "f*** you" or "eat s*** and die" doesn't have the same gravitas it used to.
The more taboo the curse word, the more effective it is conveying our emotional, sexual and aggresive animal instincts.
For example, saying, "Oprah is a big fat c***," is far more effective than saying, "Oprah is a big fat jerk."
Cursing is a universal form of neuro-psycho-social communication that enables humans to express strong emotions verbally.
Everyone curses for f***'s sake!
I think Jane Fonda is awesome for letting everyone know that she's not afraid to say c***.
Even if she does live in Georgia, where apparently they've never heard of the FCC.
Sticks and stones may break your bones, but words like c*** will never hurt you.

I've been going to the gym regularly, stepping all over the step machine and repeating the following to myself: "Left foot. Right foot. Left foot. Right foot..."
If you want, you can meet me at the top of the stairs and dump a big cooler of Gatorade on my head.
I'd appreciate any show of support for my big walk up a flight of corporate stairs in a downtown Philly building this Saturday.

Quarterback spikes ball, hits self in nuts
From 2000 CFL game. Toronto's quarterback Kerwin Bell makes a nice fake, then easily scores a touchdown.
Then he decides to spike the ball in a Winnipeg defender's face. He got sacked AND he got a taunting penalty.
Bonus: Mike Tyson-like commentary from idiot in TV booth.

Synergy: My favorite new drink
I picked up some G.T.'s Kombucha tea about a month ago and didn't like it at all.Then I found Synergy: A blend of fruit juice (5%) and Kombucha tea (95%). It's awesome!
It's a potent smelling and tasting tea, no doubt. But it's also a very invigorating drink.
It's full of active enzymes, probiotics, amino acids and antioxidants. In other words, it's a very healthy drink.
I find 1/2 a bottle gives me a nice boost and fills me up as if I had a little snack.
Since I'm trying to eliminate caffeine from my diet, I'll take a Synergy any day over a traditional energy drink, as it's caffeine-free.

I was on vacation last week in North Carolina.
One day I trekked into Wilmington, NC.
First stop was Flaming Amy's Burrito Barn.
This joint was awesome. Cute punk chicks with tattoos workin' the registers, nice salsa bar and burritos the size of an NFL football. Dee-lish!
Then I went over to Gravity Records, where I scored a bunch of Stereolab LPs! Woo hoo.
Strolled around downtown Wilmington some and stopped off at The Front Street Brewery, which I went to about 10 years ago on a road trip with Caterpillar.

Had a very solid workout today. Did 30 minutes of cardio and had my heart rate up there.

On Saturday, February 16, 2008 I'll be participating in Climb the Tower, which is The American Lung Association's Stair Climb Event in Philadelphia.
I'll be walking up 50 flights (that's 1,088 stairs in all) to help raise raise awareness about lung health and money for research into lung disease.

As a long time asthma sufferer (I still get regular treatments to this day), this seemed like a good way to challenge myself both mentally and physically.
I've already been hitting the gym and training!
My team is called Breathe for Becky.
The team captain is my pal Jen Katz, who lost her sister, Becky, to lung disease. She asked me to participate and be a part of this special event to honor the memory of her late sister.
