London: Your suggestions?

I'm going to London next month.

If you have any recommendations on fun stuff to do, drop me a line.

Mostly interested in good cheap food, record stores (vinyl), book stores, markets, museums, culture and maybe a decent band/venue to see some live music.

Drop me a line if you have any suggestions.

Hello Dave!
I love London - used to live there.
Try: Camden Market on Sunday morning 9 - 1 ish. Tube to Camden Town. Lots of cool kids, craft stalls, music shops etc. Eat out at the little stalls around Camden Lock just up the road from the tube station.
The Natural History Museum in Kensington (South Ken. Tube, follow the signs) is really cool if you like fossils, Earth Sciences etc. Across the road is the Victoria and Albert Museum which is a bit more refined for the culture vultures.
For bands, exhibitions and all the latest stuff going on in town, buy a copy of 'Time Out' magazine. I think you can access the mag over the 'net but you may have to pay to view.
For a morning you can take a ride from Waterloo ststion to Hampton Court (Get the right train and it takes you to the doorstep) palace - Henry VIII's old gaff. A Tudor palace out in the sticks.
Hope these suggestions are useful!
Any chance of posting the John Peel Oct 1 2003 show again? The link is broken on the web page.
